Dr. Tolkachjov is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained and board certified Mohs micrographic & reconstructive surgeon with interests in skin cancers, Mohs surgery & complex facial reconstruction, and pyoderma gangrenosum. He’s a clinical assistant professor at UT Southwestern, clinical associate professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine, core faculty on the Baylor University Medical Center Division of Dermatology, staff surgeon at the Dallas VA Medical Center, and is the Dallas area Director of Mohs Micrographic & Reconstructive Surgery for Epiphany Dermatology and has performed over 18,000 cases.
He graduated from Emory University followed by the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at the top of his class. He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a formal Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at the Surgical Dermatology Group in Birmingham, Alabama, where he also practiced for the first few years of his career prior to coming to Dallas.
His teaching and research have facilitated over 130 publications in major medical journals.
He has contributed chapters to several books, has authored 2 textbooks on Mohs surgery and complex facial reconstruction, and has edited 2 editions of Dermatologic Clinics.
He is an active member of dermatologic societies, directed sessions, and has held committee positions and chairmanships in the AAD, ACMS, ASDS, ISDS, and is the President of the Dallas Dermatologic Society.
He continues to teach students, residents, and fellows with various speaking engagements nationally and internationally.

Dr. Tolkachjov grew up in Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg), Russia and moved to Mississippi at the age of 10. After doing varsity Track & Field and club Rugby in college, he worked as a personal trainer before going back to medical school. He still coaches his son in football and basketball, and even though he’s a dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon, he enjoys warm weather and beaches. , contact info, etc
